We are hiring a Social Media Specialist
We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Social Media Specialist who will be responsible for producing engaging and informative content for our organization. In this position, you will be expected to research, design, write, and edit various types of content for social media posts. You should have a deep understanding of our target audience and be able to deliver content that resonates with them. If you have a passion for storytelling and a talent for writing, we encourage you to apply for this opportunity. The ideal candidate for this role has excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. They will also have a deep understanding of digital marketing trends and social media platforms.

About Walters Wellness Group

The Walters Wellness Group offices are located in Pinole, CA. Our physical space is used for a variety of offerings including community events, support groups, classes, and retreats.
Walters Wellness Group was founded by Dr. Cathia Walters, a licensed clinical psychologist. Dr. Walters was born in Jamaica and raised in Jamaica and the United States. Dr. Walters is an experienced clinical practitioner, educator, and international consultant working with both for-profit and nonprofit organizations offering customized education and training for team development and increased well-being.
Duties and responsibilities

Implement a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with business goals across platforms by working in tandem with the rest of the marketing team.

Help identify target audiences and create strategies to effectively engage them.

Create, curate, and manage all published content (images, video, written, and audio) across social media platforms.

Write social media post copy that meets brand tone and guidelines. Edit and proofread content for accuracy, grammar, and style.

Maintain, edit, and continue to build out the existing editorial calendar to ensure consistent content production and timely delivery.

Optimize content for search engines and social media platforms to increase visibility and reach

Work closely with the marketing team to brainstorm out of the box, groundbreaking ideas for social and other marketing endeavors.

Ensure content is on-brand, consistent in style and quality, and optimized for each platform.

Collaborate with the marketing team to create and execute social media campaigns for Instagram, Facebook and beyond.

Engage with followers, respond to inquiries, and foster conversations to build a community around the brand. Work with the team to develop strong relationships across audiences spanning multi-platforms.

Monitor social media channels for customer feedback and respond in a timely manner.

Address any issues or crises that arise on social media, maintaining the brand’s reputation.

Track and analyze social media performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of strategies and campaigns. Iterate and adapt with the marketing team.

Provide regular reports with insights and recommendations for improvement.

Utilize tools like Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, and other social media analytics tools to grow and adapt social strategy over time.

Stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends, tools, and best practices.

Conduct competitor analysis to identify opportunities for improvement and differentiation.

Work closely with other team members to ensure cohesive messaging and branding.

Requirements & Qualifications

Creativity: Strong creative skills with a portfolio of content that demonstrates originality, innovation, and engagement.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in using social media platforms, content creation tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.), video editing software, and copywriting. Strong attention to detail. Understanding of social media metrics and SEO.

Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a knack for crafting compelling and relatable content.

Adaptability: Ability to quickly adapt to changing trends and platform updates.

Team Player: Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as working independently.
Additional Details
This is a part-time, independent contractor (1099) role with a minimum of 20 hours per week
Hourly pay range $25-$30 per hour D.O.E.
