Bridges to Belonging

A comprehensive course designed to support you in navigating life after trauma.

How do we define trauma?

We define trauma as the experience of being overwhelmed by a negative event or circumstance and having a response of intense, overwhelming emotion that robs us of our ability to cope or respond effectively.  The negative event may have a longer-lasting impact on us than we expected, affecting the quality of our work and relationships.

The many forms of trauma:

  • Grief from loss (loved one, family member, colleague, etc.)

  • Impact of local or world events (war, natural disasters, mass shootings, etc.)

  • Domestic or sexual violence

  • A conflict, argument or misunderstanding

  • Collective trauma (e.g. immigrants & refugees)

  • Individual trauma (car accident, job loss, etc.)

  • Events in the at home, school, or the workplace

  • Toxic work/organizational environments

Extreme stress can overwhelm our capacity to fully live our lives.  We understand how difficult that can be.

Research has even shown a direct link between the experience of trauma and physical health conditions such as diabetes, COPD, heart disease, cancer, and high blood pressure.

Experiencing overwhelm or anxiety after a difficult life experience?

Let us accompany you on your journey back to YOU.

Our four-part program creates a safe, compassionate space to rebuild connection — first with the self, then with others, and ultimately with the world.
