Spring Meditation: Accepting Change

This month, I found myself sitting with uncertainty about what to share in this space. Nothing felt quite right at first. As I reflected more deeply, and as I witnessed the ongoing shifts, challenges, and collective heaviness in the world, I realized I didn’t need to search for something complex or perfectly articulated.

Instead, I felt called to offer something simple. Something grounding.

What emerged is a gentle, guided meditation. One that reflects where I am in this moment, and extends a heartfelt intention for you, and for our shared world.

Change is a natural and inevitable part of life. Just as the seasons shift and transform, so do we. Today, this practice is an invitation to gently explore what it means to accept change with compassion.

Begin by finding a comfortable position... seated

or lying down. Allow your body to be supported. If it feels safe, softly close your eyes, or lower your gaze.

Take a slow, deep breath in through your nose…

and gently exhale through your mouth.

Again, breathing in…

and breathing out…

Allow your breath to settle into a rhythm that feels natural for you.

As you continue breathing, imagine change as a soft wind moving through trees.

Notice the branches swaying, the leaves gently shifting...not resisting, just responding. There is no force, only movement.

Bring your attention to your body.

What sensations are present?

There is nothing to change-only to notice.

With each inhale, imagine creating space within you.

With each exhale, softly say to yourself: calm.

Breathing in… space.

Breathing out… calm.

Now, imagine yourself in a garden. The soil is rich, ready.

You are planting something new, perhaps a hope, an intention, or a quiet beginning.

Visualize what begins to grow.

Maybe you see tulips… or daffodils…

symbols of renewal, love, and new life...

Notice that growth is not rushed.

Much of it happens beneath the surface, unseen, yet deeply meaningful.

Allow yourself to simply be with this image... growing, unfolding, becoming.

Take a deeper breath in, gently welcoming this new season…

and exhale, allowing a sense of ease to settle within you.

As we bring our practice to a close, return your awareness to your breath...

To your body... to the space you are in.

And gently reflect:

What am I ready to release?

What am I ready to nurture?

What am I willing to welcome into my life?

There is no need to have all the answers, just an openness to the process.

Take one final, deep breath in…and slowly exhale.

When you’re ready, gently open your eyes, carrying this sense of compassion and possibility with you.

With love and compassion!
